MNA Delivers leadership, support, and guidance to healthcare facilities of all sizes across multiple specialists with the primary goal of providing accessibility, value, and quality medical administrative support services.


What You’ll Do:

As a certified coding professional for our organization, you must be able to prepare and submit medical claims for further processing throughout EMR to the clearinghouse. The individual must know current payer rules and regulations and, basic payer edits, CCI edits. Coding professionals will have the decision-making skills to resolve claim denials and work alongside the team to maintain timeliness, accuracy, compliance, and standards. Coding staff work on claim denials and aging claims with payers to achieve standard coding benchmarks.

 

  • Create and scrub medical claims through EMR software, reviewing for accuracy and coding to the highest specificity.
  • Review claims to ensure coding edits are applied and follow current payer policies.
  • Ensure denials or rejections are reviewed in a timely manner and pushed back out to the payer for appeal processing timelines.
  • Accurately enter and balance daily payment activities (credit, insurance, check, electronic funds transfer, etc.) into EMR software.
  • Reconciling and submitting to accounting daily.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of all correspondence with patients, insurance, and vendors.
  • Ensure credit balances are handled timely and accurately.
  • Research, record findings, and communicate effectively with manager and client to achieve optimum performance.
  • Identify trends and carrier issues relating to billing and reimbursements and communicate to the manager.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers via phone calls and written communications related to patient accounts.
  • Communicate with insurance companies to determine proper reimbursement.
  • Maintain patient confidence and protect medical office operations by keeping patient information confidential.


What You Need For This Job:

  • High School Diploma or general education degree
  • AAPC Certification: CPC or CPC-A is required
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combinations of education and experience.
  • Must reside in or near Wasilla, Alaska.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software, internet software and work processing software.
  • Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, use hands, or feel and talk and hear. Ability to occasionally sit, reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; crouch, or crawl.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move 25 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
