Lead Counselor Job Description

Unique opportunity to join Maryhaven, Central Ohio’s largest and most comprehensive behavioral services provider specializing in addiction recovery. We are looking for skilled, talented, and compassionate people to join our team! Maryhaven was founded on the principles of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in 1953, opening our doors to serve an overlooked segment of our population, women in need of substance abuse recovery services. As a part of the leadership team, the Lead Counselor directs the day-to-day operations of the Women’s Program treatment unit. Provides the overall administrative management of the unit in conjunction with the Administrative Coordinator, Lead PCA, and the Clinical Director, and is involved in public relations activity to promote the agency and client care. Responsible to coordinate with other programs at Maryhaven and within the community.


Lead Counselor Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in human services or behavioral science with at least one year experience in the field of chemical dependency and/or mental health treatment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in human services or behavioral science with three years experience in the field of chemical dependency and/or mental health treatment and the below required credentials.
  • Prior supervisory experience required.
  • LPC or higher preferred.
  • Minimum of LSW/MSW/LCDC III with three year’s post credential experience, or equivalent will be considered.
