The Body Shop Manager is responsible for managing all the activities of the body shop, ensuring exceptional customer service while maintaining the standards of our company and our insurance partners. The body shop manager is responsible for recruiting and hiring, as well as training and development of all body shop staff. Previous collision estimating experience is preferred for this position.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provides positive, outgoing & friendly greeting and service for all visitors and staff
  • Responsible for finding opportunities to grow the body shop business
  • Must positively maintain existing partnerships with insurance companies; work to develop new business partnerships with insurance companies
  • Trains, develops, motivates, coaches, and assists all employees in your body shop
  • Drives estimating and sales targets to meet business objectives
  • Works with staff to ensure shop production goals & deadlines are consistently met
  • Communicates performance objectives to all personnel at your specific location and to management
  • Oversees and monitors financial performance goals for your location and each department within including but not limited to sales growth, the gross profit on labor, parts, paint/materials, and the management of receivables and inventories
  • Sets standards and develops action plans to facilitate improvement of business performance & standards for quality, customer service & satisfaction, and employee satisfaction & professional/personal growth
  • Leads marketing and promotional efforts for your specific location and coordinates attendance to local community & chamber events by your management staff
  • Manages the performance & retention of personnel as needed to achieve objectives and to maintain the long-term health of the business
  • Manages the primary relationships with outside entities including but not limited to insurers, vendors, major customers and the community
  • Develops and oversees the repair process, and weekly & daily scheduling of work, assuring the quality, consistency, and timeliness of repairs
  • Sets a positive tone with all technicians for open and honest communication and teamwork

Qualifications and Skills

  • Prior collision estimating experience preferred
  • Prior auto body repair & paint experience is a plus
  • Must understand production planning and be able to coach and train for quality and profitability
  • Must be accustomed to working within growing companies and comfortable in coaching and keeping others accountable
  • Progressive experience and responsibility leading others to accomplish goals in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with CCC ONE estimating system, preferred but not necessary
