Senior Environmental Project Manager

The Technical Services division of GB (GBTS) is looking to hire a full-time Senior Environmental Project Manager to work and support the Environmental practice area in our Poughkeepsie, New York office.  The position will include field assessment/sampling, research, and report preparation. 

Position Summary:

This position works as part of a team and will take responsibility for maintaining the momentum of complex multi-year environmental projects, principally New York State Brownfield sites.

Responsibilities will include:

• Managing the planning, evaluation, design and implementation of Remedial Investigation and Remedial Action Work Plans and preparing Final Engineering Reports.
• Works with colleagues and responsible parties, owners, and GCs in completing tasks per the associated project schedule, verifies all tasks necessary to move from one stage to another are complete and accurate, coordinates with any subcontractors to execute in a timely and cost-effective manner and maintains oversight of dedicated staff and sub-contractors throughout each project. 

 Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (Geology, Geosciences, Environmental Science, Earth Science, Engineering discipline) and a minimum of 5 years of experience in New York State and/or New City environmental remediation programs.
• Must have valid driver's license and dependable automobile transportation available
• Required to survey client properties; entails negotiating non-public access areas, climbing, extended periods of walking/standing, lifting/carrying 25+ cases

• Job may require after-hour work, weekend work and some travel. 
• Competent in high school level mathematics a minimum.
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Additional Considerations:

• Must be able to pass a medical exam for use of a respirator.

Preferrred:

• Able to effectively prioritize assignments
• Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Detail oriented
• Competent in college level mathematics. Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• HAZWOPER certification preferred.
