Job Description

Central Health Management, Inc. is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for a Mon-Fri day shift in a clinic setting to support the clinical and clerical operations of a clinic.

In this role, you will:

  • Interview patients, taking vital signs including pulse, temperature, blood pressure, height and weight, and record information in the patient's chart.
  • Perform clinical procedures including, injections, EKG, routine U/A, dipstick, capillary blood draw, Cholestech, Glucometer and other medical tests under the direction of the provider.
  • Be proficient in spiormetry venous la draws and centifuge
  • Dispense medications as directed by the physician
  • Be proficient in the use and maintaince of an AED
  • Prepare treatment rooms and patients for examination
  • Clean and sterilize instruments as appropriate
  • Perform administrative tasks, complete appropriate forms and manage the front desk/check in of patients
  • Answer phones, phone triage and schedule of patient appointments
  • Be responsible for compliance and regulatory reporting
  • Maintain clinic and patient records and telephone encounters
  • Inventories and orders medical supplies, materials and medications
  • Follow up with center patients who miss appointments
  • Schedule external appointments/referrals and make follow-up phone calls to patients regarding scheduling
  • Ensure completion of all services ordered by the physician such that all reports, consult notes and follow ups are in the chart for the physician to review
  • Under the direction of the patient advocate, periodically assist with engagement/outreach functions

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associates degree or equivalent from an accredited Medical Assistant training program
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant from the American Academy of Medical Assistants, the American Medical Technologist Organization, the National Center for Competency Testing or current registration with the American Registry of Medical Assistants
  • Current certification in AHA or ARC BLS and AED certification for health care providers
  • Knowledge of Internet software, spreadsheet software, Word processing and EMR
  • Ability to communicate effectively and positively, maintaining working relationships with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to prioritize needs and plan work accordingly
  • Knowledgeable of HIPPA confidentiality requirements.
