JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: Cashier, Lake Monocan

FLSA: Exempt

DEPARTMENT: Recreation

REPORTS TO: Lake Monocan Supervisors and Manager

SUMMARY: To handle all cash, credit cards, and other forms of payments and transactions for all food, rentals, and merchandise at Lake Monocan. Also monitoring access to the lake by checking for appropriate Wintergreen Passes, while being knowledgeable of all Wintergreen issued passes. Keep all food service areas clean and stocked for the day and the next day. At the end of each day complete a deposit of all transactions and money collected from the day’s sales. Complete opening and closing checklists. Follow all operating standards.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Lead by example for a safe work environment.
• Smile and greet quests in a friendly manner
• Report to work on time and prepared for all scheduled shifts.
• Must be in uniform at all times.
• Follow all opening, closing and daily operating procedures.
• Maintain a cash drawer of $200 or more.
• Keep work area, restrooms, and park neat and clean.
• Must follow policies and procedures outlined in the Wintergreen Handbook.
• Needs to be able to take on additional tasks and assignments assigned by the Lake Supervisor and Manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of:Skill & Abilities in:

• Superior customer service skills required.
• Ability to handle a cash drawer of more than $200 plus receipts and do a daily deposit correctly and efficiently.
• Ability to answer all questions and take messages over the phone from guests and other resort personnel.

Education, Training and Experience Guidelines:

High school diploma OR GED.

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT(S):

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

• Must be able to work outside in the sun for extended periods of time in a warm and sometimes humid climate.
• Must be able to work holidays, weekends and evenings.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
