JOB SUMMARY
Responsibilities may include implementation of pre-operation inspection environmental monitoring program activities, working closely with USDA, FSIS, USDA AMS. FDA and all departments within the plant, maintenance of label files and approvals, coordinating all pest control activities, communicating customer requested documentation, maintenance of specification library. and maintenance of all export and fed cattle programs i.e., Natural, NHTC, Non-GMO and GAP. This individual will work closely with various departments by using a continuous improvement mentality and will work to perpetuate a “Creekstone Proud” culture through attitude and actions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Documenting, and communicating plant Quality/HACCP/SSOP/SOG/GMP programs to ensure proper implementation.
  • Coordinating with plant personnel, USDA, FDA, and contracted sanitation personnel to comply with quality programs.
  • Working daily in cold environments (~45 degrees) and warm environments (~85 degrees)
  • Maintain constructive relationships with various levels of personnel in various departments.
  • Planning and management of audit and program calendar i.e., scheduling audits and recertifications.
  • Maintain all HARPC, HACCP & SSOP documents and plans as directed by the HACCP team.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Adhere to and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance Technologies and/or Knowledge of the meat industry
  • 1-3 years’ experience in the meat industry
  • Conflict resolution abilities and strong customer relations
  • Experience working with a diverse group of people.
  • Ability to maintain high expectations for self and others, demonstrating a dedication to achievement of results.
  • Demonstrated ability to function successfully in a fast paced, changing work environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Solid problem solving, project management, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills.
  • Detail oriented, organized, reliable and resourceful.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Climbing, stooping, and crouching occasionally; Standing for 8 or more hours per day; Walking frequently; Pushing, pulling, and grasping to move materials; Must be able to lift and carry for short distances; 0 – 100+lbs; Able to work in various environments, such as humid, hot, cold, or wet; Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – hard hat, safety-toe boots, safety goggles, hair/beard net, etc.
