Maintenance Mechanic Factory

Primary Role:

Assist with fabricating / welding structures in the plant or in the maintenance shop. To assure maximum efficiency and safety of mechanic equipment. Assist with installation and maintenance of mechanical equipment, system diagnosis and repair of breakdowns.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Taking lead on larger projects and obtaining any special resources required to complete work orders
• Coordinating and maintaining the organization of the fabrication shop including raw materials, tools, and welding equipment.
• Experience on stainless steel custom fabrication Requires:
• Being familiar with the use of shop equipment: shears, press brakes, iron worker, notches, band saw, Etc.…
• T.I.G welding, especially on light gauge sheet metal. Metal ranges from 18 gage and up.
• Being able to take dimensions, personally make in-house drawings and fabricate from them (or from blue prints).
• Understanding sheet metal layout and being able to fabricate fittings such as square to round, round elbow on gores, round eccentric reducers, round tee intersections at an angle, Etc.…
• MIG and stick welding, both flat and vertical up.
• Being able to go to the field to install or repair equipment (Chimney, platforms, tanks, etc.) Which includes climbing ladders and not being afraid of heights or getting your hands dirty on the job.
• Conducting preventive maintenance to motors and mechanical equipment.
• Troubleshooting and repairing equipment when breakdowns occur.
• Helping with installations and modifications of equipment.
• Proficiently use a variety of hand and power tools, and specialized tools and care of those tools.
• Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, including project updates, questions, difficulties, and ideas.
• Obtaining daily/weekly goals from Maintenance Manager.
• Taking detailed notes. Asking questions when not confident of a process or project.
• Coming to work in clean and professional attire.
• Enforcing the safety of yourself and other teammates
• Using problem solving skills and critical thinking to learn on the job and complete various types of complex tasks in an efficient and productive process.
• Being aware of current environment, reporting issues or proactive solutions, and helping develop a more robust system/process.
• Asking for what you need or what you believe will help your work or the work of others, safety, quality, and efficiency.

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience
• Must have good communication skills
• Must be a team player
• Must have creative problem-solving skills
• Able to work early mornings, and weekends when necessary
• 2+ years of work experience as a mechanic in an industrial setting preferred, or Highschool/Trade school mechanical degree graduate preferred
• Fundamental Math and Writing Skills
• Proficiency in maintenance of industrial equipment.
• The ability to lift to 50 Lb, and to walk up/downstairs throughout the day.
• Must be dependable, deadline-oriented, goal driven, hardworking, with a good attitude and the ability to work well with teammates and management.
• Able to follow directions.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

GED or High School Diploma

Preferred skill set

• Legible handwriting skills
• Some computer experience
• Managing of time skills
