Position Description

RICE Services Inc., (A 100% employee-owned ESOP) is looking to hire an organized, professional Purchasing Agent HVAC MF to join our team. We are seeking an individual to complement our HVAC MF team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate actions and decisions that align with our company Core Values of Respect, Integrity, Safety and Quality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Generate and verify purchase requisitions via the weekly Project Status Report (PSR);
  • Monthly Material Projection - Provide awarded vendors a forecast of all releases per PSR
  • Manage Material Releases
  • Handle routine inventory monitoring of equipment/fixtures in short supply with awarded vendors;
  • Track all back orders and special requests or changes to schedule and communicate to Inventory Control and Pack Puller;
  • Order and/or track ETA’s on all back orders and provide information to Foreman, Builders, and Inside Sales;
  • Process late options and Change orders;
  • Field defectives/swap outs and handle manufacture involvement with production defects
  • Provide Material lead time/Vendor stock;
  • Do product research and handle Builder support calls.


MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
A High School diploma or general education degree (GED)


WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Strong Excel skills
  • Construction industry experience a plus
  • Five (5) plus years of experience in Purchasing MF HVAC a must.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Computer literate with proficiency with Microsoft Office and related spreadsheets and database software.
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks with simultaneous deadlines.
  • Comfortable, creating, editing, modifying documents using Microsoft Office products.

  • Detail oriented with a high level of efficiency and accuracy;
  • Able to work effectively either independently or as part of a team;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel abilities in managing spreadsheets;
  • Proficient in data entry, accessing online vendor portals, and ability to learn internal software.

Physical Requirements:

Must have the physical ability to lift and carry up to 25lb. objects upstairs and be able to crawl under tables and climb ladders.
