Responsibilities 

• Prepare food to specifications before and during unit operations.
• Comply with all portion sizes, quality standards and waste control measures.  
• Ensure freshness and proper food temperatures are maintained and food is stored correctly.       
• Perform opening, closing, side work and end-of-day inventory.
• Keep workstation, coolers, and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications 

• At least 1 year of previous experience in a back-of-the-house food service position is required.
• Participation in a culinary program is preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and recipes.
• Basic math skills; ability to understand, calculate and follow recipe measurements and proportions.
• No high school diploma or GED required

Physical Requirements 

• Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Will stand for length of shift with frequent bending, lifting, reaching, including overhead, stretching and grasping.
• Must work rapidly in a fast paced environment while coordinating multiple orders.
• Exposure to variable temperatures and kitchen dangers such as heat, burns, scalds, cuts, slips and falls and chemicals used to clean and sanitize work areas, equipment and surfaces.
