Summary: Our Enterprise Data and Analytics team at Huntington is expanding, and we are seeking an exceptional Senior Data Scientist to join us. In this role, you will utilize machine learning segmentation and statistical inference techniques on vast datasets to enhance our understanding of customers and the communities we serve. With the aim of becoming the premier Regional Bank in America, we rely on data and analytics to achieve this goal. As we enhance our data science and analytics capabilities, we seek individuals skilled in modeling complex business problems and uncovering insights through statistical algorithmic mining and visualization techniques. The Senior Data Scientist will play a crucial role in building and developing our data infrastructure, providing senior leadership with insights, management reports, and analyses for informed decision-making processes. Duties and Responsibilities: Employ advanced analytics methods to extract actionable insights from business data. Conduct large-scale experimentation and develop data-driven models to address business inquiries. Conduct ongoing research on cutting-edge techniques and tools in machine learning, deep learning, and artificial intelligence. Determine requirements for training and evolving deep learning models and algorithms. Articulate a vision and roadmap for leveraging data as a valuable corporate asset. Influence product teams by presenting data-based recommendations. Advocate for best practices within analytics and product teams. Manage the entire model development process, including identifying business requirements, data sourcing, model fitting, presenting results, and production scoring. Perform other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications: Up-to-date knowledge of machine learning and data analytics tools and techniques. Strong knowledge in predictive modeling methodology. Experience leveraging both structured and unstructured data sources. Willingness and ability to learn new technologies on the job. Ability to communicate complex results to technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to work effectively in teams as well as independently across multiple tasks while meeting aggressive timelines. Strategic, intellectually curious thinker with a focus on outcomes. detail oriented image with the ability to form relationships across functions. Strong experience with R/RStudio, Python, SAS, SQL, NoSQL. Strong experience with Cloud Machine Learning technologies (e.g., AWS Sagemaker). Strong experience with machine learning environments (e.g., TensorFlow, scikit-learn, caret). Strong understanding of statistical methods and skills, such as Bayesian Networks Inference, linear and non-linear regression, hierarchical mixed models/multi-level modeling. Background in Financial Services is preferred.Basic Qualifications: Master’s Degree in computer science, statistics, economics, or related fields. 3 years of work and/or educational experience in machine learning or cloud computing. Experience using statistics and machine learning to solve complex business problems. Proficiency in conducting statistical analysis with advanced statistical software. Proficiency in scripting languages and packages. Experience in building and deploying predictive models. Experience in web scraping and scalable data pipelines. Experience with big data analysis tools and techniques.
