Seeking Full time Elementary School Sign Language Interpreter (SLI)-

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Sign Language Interpreter to join our team at an elementary school near Byron,Georgia for the uping academic year. As a Sign Language Interpreter, you will play a crucial role in facilitating effective munication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and their peers, teachers, and other school staff.

Responsibilities:

• Provide interpretation and translation services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in classroom settings, extracurricular activities, and school events.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment by ensuring equal access to educational opportunities for all students.
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and acmodations for students.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with students and school personnel.
• Stay updated on best practices in sign language interpretation and deaf education.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a 3.5 score on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA).
• Certification as a sign language interpreter or willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.
• Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
• Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English.
• Excellent munication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to diverse learning styles and individual student needs.
