Responsibilities

Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Survey Technician to join our team. As a Survey Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our surveying projects by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting spatial data. Your responsibilities will include using advanced surveying equipment, such as total stations and GPS devices, to accurately measure and record geographic information. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in surveying principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for working in the field.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct field surveys using various surveying equipment to collect precise measurements and geographic data.
  2. Assist in the setup and operation of total stations, GPS receivers, and other surveying instruments.
  3. Record and document field observations, measurements, and data accurately and efficiently.
  4. Perform calculations to determine property boundaries, elevation profiles, and other surveying parameters.
  5. Assist in the preparation of survey drawings, maps, and reports using CAD software and GIS applications.
  6. Collaborate with surveyors and other team members to ensure project objectives are met within specified deadlines.
  7. Maintain and calibrate surveying equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  8. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working in the field and on job sites.
  9. Keep abreast of advancements in surveying technology and techniques to enhance job performance.


Qualifications

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification in surveying, geomatics, or a related field.
  2. Previous experience working as a survey technician or in a similar role preferred.
  3. Proficiency in operating total stations, GPS receivers, and other surveying instruments.
  4. Strong mathematical skills and the ability to perform calculations with precision.
  5. Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and GIS applications (ArcGIS, QGIS).
  6. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate and reliable survey data.
  9. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various job sites as required.
