JOB TITLE: Welder

LOCATION: Santa Barbara

Full Time Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Welder performs repairs and maintenance on vehicle floors, vehicle bodies, containers, and roll-off boxes and safely fabricates components according to company standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

• Perform necessary welding repairs on company equipment and trucks.
• Welds steel and aluminum components using Mig and arc welding equipment
• Fabricates steel components for company equipment and trucks.
• Ensure proper completion of work orders associated with repairs utilizing fleet maintenance software program to document time and parts usage.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards.
• Assist in special welding projects.
• Performs other duties that may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in complex welding: MIG Arc welding and fabrication.
• Experience with Arc, Mig, and Tig welding.
• Knowledge of hand and power tools to perform essential functions of the job.
• Ability to effectively communicate.
• Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve.

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or the equivalent is preferred but not required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to dust, smoke, fumes or airborne particles, orders, grease, oil, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Required to put on protective outfits, like gloves, safety footwear, and hardhat.
