General Summary Description

QAQC Technicians perform standard asphalt, soils, aggregate and other construction material testing in the field or in our laboratory to ensure the quality of material being tested meets the required specifications.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Sample and test incoming construction material for asphalt, aggregates and soils

 

  • Support evaluation and implementation of new material technologies throughout the company

 

  • Maintain and apply knowledge of current quality standards, specifications and industrial processes

 

  • Interact professionally with client representatives at project sites and in the lab

 

  • Assist with maintenance of lab equipment and arrange for calibrations, preventative maintenance repair and/or adjustments

 

  • Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner

 

  • Adhere to all safety and protective equipment policies, demonstrating safe work practices and maintaining safe working conditions inside and outside of the lab

 

  • Perform work in high traffic volume areas for extended periods as needed

 

  • Demonstrate strong work ethic with integrity and commitment to compliance

 

  • Seek and obtain additional training as needed for industry testing changes

 

  • Perform other related temporary assignments as needed


Minimum Requirements, Abilities and Expectations

  • Minimum of two years of related experience with demonstrated competence in work assignments

 

  • Thorough knowledge of soils, asphalt and asphalt related lab and field testing

 

  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities and meet strict deadlines

 

  • Valid driver's license with insurable driving record required

 

  • Heavy lifting and carrying will be required – up to 50 lbs.

 

  • Current materials testing certifications including KDOT, MoDOT and/or ACI preferred

 

  • Basic computer skills including Excel, Word, Outlook

 

  • Work in extreme weather conditions

 

  • Work nontraditional or extended hours as needed

 

  • Some overnight travel required

Compensation details: 21-30 Hourly Wage
