Job Summary:

Our company is a leading provider of construction materials, and we are seeking an experienced logistics manager to oversee our logistics operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics management and supply chain management in the construction materials sector, with a focus on experience with trucking, rail, and marine transportation. The logistics manager will be responsible for ensuring timely and efficient delivery of construction materials ($40M annual delivery expense) to our sites and (internal & external) customers, aiding our sales efforts, ensuring compliance across our fleet, and managing a team of logistics coordinators.

Essential Functions:

1. Results Matter. Develop and implement logistics strategies and procedures specific to the construction materials industry, with a focus on truck, rail, and marine transportation, ensuring timely & cost-effective delivery of construction materials to our sites and customers.
2. Manage all aspects of the shipping, receiving, and storage of construction materials via trucking, rail, and marine transportation.
3. Oversee the scheduling of shipments and deliveries via trucking, rail, and marine transportation to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
4. Mastery. Manage and supervise a team of logistics coordinators, providing guidance and direction to ensure goals and objectives are met.
5. Monitor and evaluate logistics performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes as necessary.
6. Protect Family and Friends. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including safety regulations, customs regulations, and import/export laws specific to trucking, rail, and marine transportation.
7. Transparency and learning. Work collaboratively with other departments, including sales, customer service, and operations, to ensure seamless logistics operations.
8. Develop and maintain relationships with carriers, suppliers, and other logistics partners in the construction materials sector, with a focus on trucking, rail, and marine transportation.






Requirements, Education and Experience:

1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics management in the construction materials sector, with a focus on trucking, rail, and marine transportation.
3. Strong knowledge of logistics processes, supply chain management, and inventory control specific to the construction materials industry, with a focus on trucking, rail, and marine transportation.
4. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
5. Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team of logistics coordinators in the construction materials sector, with a focus on trucking, rail, and marine transportation.
6. Proficient in Microsoft Office, logistics management software, and other relevant technology tools.
7. Knowledge of safety regulations, customs regulations, and import/export laws specific to trucking, rail, and marine transportation in the construction materials industry.
8. Professional verbal and written communication skills.
9. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
10. Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Travel:

Position may require up to 50% travel by personal vehicle to offices throughout the state of New York, and New England based on the needs of the business.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

Job involves sitting, standing, walking, climbing, reaching, and bending for brief periods of time in all types of weather.
