Description:

The individual who excels in this position is a person who can cultivate relationships with a variety of audiences and promotes understanding of Credit Union products and services. This means developing and managing relationships within local government, marketing and servicing Credit Union products and services, and providing information to county/municipal departments in the assigned territory. Due to the travel required for this position, the candidate must live within their territory.


Territories include: Randolph, Chatham, Lee, Moore, Montgomery, Stanley, Mecklenburg, Union, Anson, Richmond, Scotland, and Hoke counties.


NORMAL DAY-TO-DAY WORK

  1. Build and deepen relationships with key partners (e.g., Advisory Council members, local government unit liaisons, members, potential members) through a consultative approach to understand their unique needs.
  2. Partner with Civic Manager at assigned branch(s) to keep current on activity within the Branch to best understand how member support and awareness looks. Support the member experience on an as needed basis.
  3. Maintain a well-developed working knowledge of all Credit Union products and services. Educate members in a manner that encourages the use of our digital channels. Demonstrate the ability to simplify and communicate complex financial concepts to members.
  4. Facilitate external meetings and presentations through various channels to include recruitment and relationship maintenance of colocations, Civic van programming, conference attendance, and provide support to the needs of our local government units.
  5. Create and maintain a plan to achieve relationship-management growth goals. This audience of this plan should include but not be limited to local government unit contacts in the assigned territory, advisory council members, and key member groups as determined by the credit union.
  6. Cultivate relationships with relevant community organizations.
  7. Recruit and recommend Advisory Council members. Serve as a primary contact for Advisory Council members in assigned territory. Execute on strategies provided by the Director of Advisory Council Engagement.
  8. Maintain up-to-date information in Salesforce to track communication activity within assigned territory.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Here are a few qualifications you MUST have to be qualified for this position.

  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. Minimum one to three years of experience in business development, sales, marketing or local government.
  3. Notary Public in North Carolina (or ability to achieve in the first 12-months of employment) and Financial Counseling Certification Program (FiCEP) designation or Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC) (or ability to achieve in the first 24-months of employment).
  4. Must reside and maintain residency in the State of North Carolina, within their designated territory. Up to 80% in-state travel is required, which includes overnights and weekends.
  5. Excellent verbal, written, telephone and interpersonal communication skills.
  6. PC proficient including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) and the Internet.
  7. Ability to function in a consumer business office environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: PC, copier, telephone, etc.
  8. Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. (file boxes, computer printer).


Here are a few qualifications we'd LIKE for you to have.

  1. BA/BS in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
  2. Credit Union Business Development Professional (CUBDP) designation and/or Credit Union Development Education (DE) designations.
  3. Financial Services, marketing or sales experience, including utilizing Salesforce is a plus.
