THE POSITION

Do you like working outdoors? Do you like working with your hands? A Maintenance Repairman 2 position may be the job for you. The Department of Conservation & Natural Resources, Leadership School is looking for a positive individual who strives to keep the park facilities in good working order for the safe, enjoyable recreation and relaxation of our park visitors.


DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, your role will involve performing skilled work in various trades to maintain, repair, and construct facility buildings, structures, equipment, and grounds. Additionally, you will be responsible for contacting vendors, obtaining price quotations, calculating costs, estimating man-hours, and preparing forms for review and approval by the supervisor. Furthermore, you will also act as a lead worker for other personnel involved in project completion, such as Semi-Skilled Laborers and Laborers.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • This is a seven day per week operation and will require to work some weekends and holidays.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1; or
  • Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which
    has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the
    applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.


Special Requirement:

  • This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C non-commercial Driver's license.

Other Requirements:
  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
