ALS is a leading 3PL brokerage company committed to delivering efficient and innovative logistics solutions. We are currently seeking a seasoned Controller to join our finance team and drive profitability through effective financial management and accepted accounting processes.
Responsibilities:
Monthly and Annual Financial Close:
- Lead the monthly and annual financial close processes, ensuring the production of accurate and timely financial statements.
- Review financials, prepare monthly packets, and collaborate with external partners for annual tax filing.
Manage and Oversee Finance Operational Activities:
- Supervise and coordinate all finance operational activities, including collections, carrier payables, invoicing, and document obtainment.
- Implement and maintain efficient processes to enhance overall financial operations.
Own Rollout and Creation of Annual Budget:
- Take ownership of the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop accurate and realistic financial forecasts.
- Manage and monitor expense compliance to the budget, overseeing approvals for all payments.
Accountability to All Journal Entries and Compliance to GAAP:
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all journal entries, maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Guarantee compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant accounting standards.
LMS Accounting Department:
- Manage all aspects of the general ledger and cash flow, providing accurate and insightful financial reporting.
- Implement and maintain an efficient and organized accounting department.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field is preferred; CPA designation preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting experience.
- 3+ years of supervisor experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
