JOB SUMMARY

Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring BYD Energy Storage System (ESS) incoming parts from supply chain companies and internally produced components/vehicles meet the quality standards and systems required. The Quality Engineer Position is located in Lancaster, CA and requires frequent travel up to 95%.

JOB DESCRIPTION

 Responsible for ensuring that the BYD ESS products produced meet quality standards required to minimize quality costs and maximize customer satisfaction whilst ensuring that procedures and processes are adhered to.

 Ensure incoming materials and BYD ESS Product meet required quality standards. Responsible for identifying and raising quality issues and for speedily resolving them to ensure zero impact on the customer.

 Support Quality control during ESS installation, commissioning, delivery, repairing, and maintenance processes.

 Work in a team environment to develop and implement best practices that emphasize defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste, and provide for continuous improvements in meeting all customer requirements.

 Work mostly independently with minimal supervision and work is reviewed at project milestones and/or on completion by Senior Management.

 General and Task Management. Manage all quality-related issues within the manufacturing team (e.g.internal, supplier, customer, and customer warranty) Identify' the root cause and instigate permanent corrective actions for product quality issues.

 Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues that arise as quickly and efficiently as possible to prevent compromising quality and safety standards.

 Carry out product and process auditing. Ensure control plans and associated documentation are implemented effectively and maintained.

 Monitor, track, and report on quality-related key performance indicators including scrap monitoring, rework levels, pass rate. Stop production in the event of the manufacture of unacceptable

goods/processes.

 Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality Management system (ISO9001). Write product inspection procedures. Assist with training of quality awareness.

 Lead quality audits. Keep up with current and developing manufacturing and engineering trends that concern product quality.

 Quality control of work by appropriate reviews. Support and lead process improvement activities. Write reports and present progress at project meetings and to clients. Produce written reports and make presentations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to outdoor elements. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be physically capable of working in an outdoor environment on a regular base

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 Bachelor's Degree in Automotive Engineering or similar majors. Minimum 5 years’ work experience as a Quality Engineer.

 Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and ability to manage project timelines.
