The Commercial Lines Account Manager performs the essential functions of the position, which include supporting the service needs of clients in placing and servicing new and existing business. Responsibilities include new and renewal marketing, cross selling and rounding accounts. Marketing new business is required as part of the position as well as meeting the sales, service needs of our clients. Individuals in this position generally have 3-5 years' experience servicing clients.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Client Management:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for commercial insurance clients, addressing inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and professionally.
    • Conduct thorough client assessments to understand their insurance needs, risk profiles, and coverage requirements.
    • Collaborate with clients to develop tailored insurance solutions that align with their business objectives and risk management strategies.
  2. Policy Administration:

    • Facilitate the renewal process for commercial insurance policies, ensuring timely submission of applications, underwriting information, and premium payments.
    • Review policy documents, endorsements, and certificates of insurance for accuracy and completeness.
    • Coordinate policy changes, endorsements, and cancellations in accordance with client requests and insurance carrier guidelines.
  3. Insurance Placement:

    • Work closely with insurance carriers to obtain quotes, negotiate terms, and secure competitive coverage options for clients.
    • Evaluate insurance proposals and provide recommendations to clients based on coverage, pricing, and carrier stability.
    • Facilitate the binding and issuance of insurance policies, adhering to underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  4. Account Maintenance:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, policy documentation, and correspondence in agency management systems.
    • Monitor policy expiration dates, renewal timelines, and premium payments to proactively address client needs and avoid coverage gaps.
    • Conduct periodic account reviews with clients to assess coverage adequacy, address emerging risks, and explore opportunities for additional insurance products or services.
  5. Relationship Building:

    • Cultivate strong relationships with clients, insurance carriers, and internal stakeholders to foster trust, collaboration, and mutual success.
    • Attend industry events, networking functions, and educational seminars to stay informed about insurance trends, market developments, and regulatory changes.
    • Act as a knowledgeable resource for clients, providing guidance on insurance-related matters and promoting agency value propositions.

Requirements

  • Property/Casualty License
  • Knowledge of insurance products and usage
  • Previous experience commercial lines insurance
  • Ability to work side by side with producer
  • Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate processing of transactions
  • Keeps informed regarding industry information, new product information, coverage and technology to continuously improve knowledge and stay current
  • Interacts with others effectively by utilizing good communication skills; cooperates positively and provides information and guidance, as needed to contribute to the business efforts of the agency
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing with others to explain complex issues, receive and interpret complex information and respond appropriately
