$15.75/hour

Duties

This position is responsible for the general maintenance and care of the flower beds at the Ohio Department of Agriculture. Duties include, but are not limited to: Planting flowers, weeding, mulching, watering, bush/shrub trimming, hole digging and topsoil spreading. Gather and dispose of litter.

Skills/Abilities Required

Prioritize and multi-task. Ability to maintain accurate records.

Work without direct supervision. Ability to make independent decisions and recommendations.

Effectively communicate in writing & verbally, both in person & on the telephone.

Meet standard and specialized training requirements.

Be able to lift up to 25 lbs., and use hand gardening tools, rakes, shovels and pruning sheers.

Be able to bend, twist, stoop, squat, reach, climb stairs, walk long distances, and stand for 2 hours with breaks.

Landscaping experience preferred, but not required.
