Medical Assistant

Meridian Healthcare is looking for enthusiastic, detail oriented Medical Assistants to join our in-patient facility located in Youngstown, OH. Shifts available are 7:00am-7:30pm or 7:00p-7:30am, with flexibility to work on a weekend rotation.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MEDICAL ASSISTANT

• Accurately assist with on-site admissions, immunizations, drug screens and additional testing when scheduled
• Provides direct care (i.e.-vital signs, transporting to other departments) or other care to patients according to Meridian policy and procedure as delegated by and under the supervision of the licensed nurse.
• Competent in Blood Pressure, Pulse and Narcan administration
• Consult with physicians, nurses and Medical Manager regarding judgments and effective decisions related to patient care
• Perform clerical and supportive duties including answering phones and order entry as needed
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks for the assigned patients in a timely and efficient manner, and under the direction of the licensed nurse
• Collaborate provide clear communication to all clients, staff, physicians and visitors

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MEDICAL ASSISTANT

• Medical Assistant education and/or 2 years experience required
• First Aid and CPR certifications
• Computer proficiency required
