Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Saganing Slot Shift Supervisor, provide guests with prompt, professional, friendly and courteous service. Perform minor machine repairs (i.e., currency, and ticket jams), and jackpot payoffs. Responsible for general housekeeping within the area assigned, to include emptying and cleaning ashtrays, picking up debris and bottles, wiping down machines, straightening chairs, etc. Follow all laws, gaming regulations, policies and procedures while performing these duties.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet and make eye contact with guests; communicate with a smile and demonstrate confidence in the performance of duties and encourage all casino guests to feel unique and exceptional. Answer guest questions regarding slot machine games and bonus play; explain game rules and combinations of play to guests. Sell benefits of the Players Club program; sign up guests for a players club card.
  • Maintain an impressed bank, ensuring a sufficient supply of currency and coin are available to perform accurate and appropriate transactions with guests.
  • Conduct accurate and timely cash transactions with external and internal guests; handle cash transactions with accuracy.
  • Pay off jackpots within established limits; complete the proper forms.
  • Use good judgment in dealing with guest complaints; contact management when encountering a guest dispute.
  • Maintain current knowledge of casino operations, promotions and events occurring throughout the facility and the appropriate team members to contact to provide accurate answers to any question.
  • Service slot machines and document repair work related to slot equipment malfunctions.
  • Communicate machine malfunctions that cannot be corrected to a Slot Technician Supervisor, Slot Technician, and/or the Slot Supervisor and Slot Manager immediately.
  • Reserve machines for guests per established guidelines.
  • Safeguard company assets.
  • Observe guests and report any suspicious activities to the Casino Management, Security, Compliance or Surveillance including the improper use of TITO tickets, the use of counterfeit monies, or other attempts to cheat the machines or other team members.
  • Report any observed violations of the same to Casino Management, Security, Compliance or Surveillance.
  • Wear a department approved communications device which requires a dedicated ear piece.
  • Practice Saganing Hospitality Rules with every internal and external guest.
  • Assist in maintaining a pleasant environment by removing and disposing of trash, cleaning up spills and clutter, and keeping work areas organized.
  • Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.

Contacts/Purpose of Contacts:

  • Contact with Slot Operations Management to assure needs of the business, guests and team members are met.
  • Contact and interaction with guests for the purpose of elevating service levels, reducing response and service times, etc.
  • Contact with various organizational management and supervision personnel for the benefit of communicating employee needs, guest needs, and offering quality guest service.
  • Contact with Casino Management, Security, Compliance, and Surveillance to report any violations of gaming laws and regulations or casino policies and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the various types of slot and video gaming device machines and is able to identify major malfunctions and correct minor machine malfunctions.
  • Skill in cashier operations.
  • Skill in customer service techniques.
  • Skills in public relations/guest service and hospitality.
  • Skills in mathematics, such as the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to make solid decisions and exercise independent judgment.
  • Ability to resolve guest complaints and concerns.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent use of hands, wrists, fingers associated with computer operation.
  • Frequent standing and walking for extended and long periods of time.
  • Required to sit and walk.
  • Required to talk and hear.
  • Vision required includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds.


Work Environment:

  • Frequent walking and standing in a smoking environment and contact with the general public. Constant visual stimulation via neon lights on slot machines, repeatedly changing machine video screens, static or flashing signs throughout the casino and constant machine and crowd noise.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock.
  • Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Six months of cash handling or hospitality experience in a fast paced, high pressure environment.
  • Must pass a math proficiency test with a minimum score of 70 percent.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position.


License, Certification, or Special Requirements:

  • Native American preference shall apply to all positions.
