Mustang Creek Estates is GROWING! We are seeking a Dynamic and Passionate Executive Director for our NEW Residential Assisted Living and Memory Care community in Flower Mound, TX. This is a new construction campus and we are excited to share our concept with Flower Mound! Mustang Creek offers a unique, home-like setting for seniors where our team members are like family.

The Executive Director is responsible for the overall management and success of the assisted living and memory care community. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to hiring, recruiting, and training the team members according to Mustang Creek Estates’ standards; completing team member recognition, 90-day annual performance reviews, and ongoing coaching and counseling of team members; completing and organizing team member paperwork according to state and community guidelines; facilitation of resident care conferences and completion and organizing of all resident paperwork including service plans according to state and community guidelines; completing the team member staffing schedule according to budget guidelines, fairness, and resident needs; and ultimately, ensuring that residents are cared for according to Mustang Creek Estates’ philosophy of service. It is expected that the Executive Director complete the state training requirements and become knowledgeable in Mustang Creek Estates’ philosophy, principle of service, and policies and procedures – this knowledge is the foundation for future decision-making. As the day-to-day manager of Mustang Creek Estates, the Executive Director is expected to develop and maintain a positive atmosphere for residents, families, visitors, and team members.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Resident Care and programming
    • Review/Create the resident’s file and schedule the Move-In Paperwork Meeting
    • Conduct the Move-In Paperwork Meeting and complete all required paperwork
    • Ensure that the Comprehensive Assessment and Service Plan is current and updated annually
    • Ensure that all team members are familiar with each resident’s service plan and provide care accordingly
    • Ensure the accuracy and completion of the Service Checkoff Lists and the Shift Checkoff Lists.
    • Maintain & monitor the Resident Care Service Manuals to ensure completion according to State regulations and MCE Guidelines.
    • Work with the Activity Director to ensure that a variety of appropriate and individualized activities are available every day and throughout the evening.
    • Monitor the dining experience daily to ensure meals are prepared according to health standards and served with good food and a pleasant experience.
    • Monitor medication passes to ensure that the MCE medication procedure is being followed.
    • Physically monitor each shift in each MCE home AT LEAST once a month.
    • Effectively schedule team members to ensure quality resident care, fair hours for the team members, and according to budget while limiting overtime.
    • Monitor House Notes and incident reports for entries indicating a change in a resident’s condition and proper/complete documentation
    • Communicate regularly with families, physicians, and outside resources as necessary
  • Recruiting, hiring and training
    • Partner with the Recruiter to identify open positions and to develop and implement an effective hiring strategy to recruit team members that will provide quality care according to Mustang Creek Estates’ team member characteristics
    • Ensure that all team member paperwork is completed according to State regulations, including TB tests, criminal background, misconduct registry, and drug tests.
    • Ensure that all annual TB tests are completed
    • Ensure that team members complete MCE and the State required training. Ensure that the team members not only attend the training but understand and can competently perform all tasks covered in training.
    • Provide monthly ongoing training to team members.
    • Facilitate the new team member onboarding to assist team members toward success.
    • Conduct 90-day and annual performance reviews to assist team member growth
    • Provide ongoing documented coaching and counseling to team members
  • Administrative; management of complete and organized team member and resident files
    • Ensures timely completion of all Resident Files according to MCE policies and State Regulations.
    • Ensures that all Resident Files are well organized clearly for easy accessibility.

    • Provide daily guidance to the Maintenance coordinator to ensure that the monthly emergency training occurs timely and documents are filed appropriately.
    • Assist the Sales Coordinator with driving the MCE sales process according to the sales guidelines. Provide sales tours and coordinate follow-up calls.
    • Coordinate move-ins and move-outs with the Sales Coordinator and ensure the Maintenance coordinator’s progress for timely room readiness.
  • Budget and Financial
    • Ensures staffing according to financial guidelines of MCE
    • Ensures that food cost in each house is according to MCE guidelines
    • Responsible for all financial reporting and budgeting for the campus.
    • Responsible for the financial success of the campus

  • Must possess a college degree
  • Must have (2) years experience as an Executive Director in an Assisted Living/Memory Care setting
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and be available to respond during off-duty hours to community problems and emergencies
  • Must be able to handle multiple priorities
  • Must possess good judgment problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Must have good organizational and time management skills
  • Must keep Texas-required continuing education current
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to act in a resident’s best interest
  • Ability to act and supervise in a professional, courteous manner
  • Ability to follow MCE policies and procedures
