Surgical cases: General,\nOB/GYN, Ophth (cataract surgery) & Orthopedics surgeries once to\ntwice a month
General Description
The RN is responsible\nfor providing direct patient care within all 3/scope of practice with\nin surgical services; see listing below:
Must have experience in all 3 areas!!
1. Pre-op
2. OR/Circulator
3. \nPACU.
The RN will function as\na primary care giver, an must be able to function in all three areas.
40/hr.\nwork week,
Rotational\ncall, weekdays, weekends, & Holidays.
Responsibility
Conducts assessments,\ndocuments care, provides emotional support, coordinates transfers, recovers\npatients, circulates cases, assist with processing instruments/equipment in\ncentral sterilizing and prepares patients for surgery. Assist other\nstaff members and provides patient education. Knowledge of and/or\ninterest in technical procedures and care. Adheres to principles of\ninfection control and general policies of the department. Follows national\nstandards thru IAHCSMM, AORN, ASGE, and ASPAN.

\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Reports directly to the Surgical Services\nManager and/or her designee.
Special Demands
Mental: Able to perform effectively\nin highly stressful situations. Able to\ninteract effectively with a wide variety of people and have good communication\nskills.
Physical: Long periods of standing, walking, and heavy\nlifting. Exposure to blood and body\nfluids, unpleasant sights, smells and infectious diseases possible.
Qualifications
Education: RN\ngraduate with current Colorado\nlicensure.
Experience: 3 Years Pre-op/OR/PACU experience preferred.
Skills: ACLS\ncertification, CNOR preferred, scrub experience preferred also.
