Vaco is working with a great company in the Elizabethtown, KY area looking to add a Purchaser to their team!

Job Duties:
  1. Conducting research to identify potential suppliers and vendors for required goods and services.
  2. Negotiating pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to secure favorable agreements while maintaining quality standards and cost-effectiveness.
  3. Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and specifications for goods and services.
  4. Analyzing supply market trends and conducting supplier assessments to evaluate performance, reliability, and capability.
  5. Managing the procurement process from requisition to delivery, including issuing purchase orders, tracking orders, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
  6. Monitoring inventory levels and managing replenishment orders to maintain adequate stock levels while minimizing excess inventory.
  7. Resolving issues and discrepancies related to orders, deliveries, invoicing, and quality concerns in a timely manner.
  8. Maintaining accurate records of purchases, contracts, pricing, and supplier/vendor information.
  9. Implementing cost-saving initiatives and process improvements to optimize procurement operations.
  10. Adhering to relevant policies, regulations, and compliance requirements related to procurement activities.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in a similar industry or organization.
  3. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to achieve favorable terms and pricing.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  5. Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data, interpret market trends, and make informed purchasing decisions.
  6. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in procurement processes and documentation.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with experience using purchasing software or ERP systems preferred.
  8. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  9. Knowledge of procurement best practices, contract management, and relevant regulations and compliance standards.
  10. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address and resolve procurement-related issues promptly and effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Certification in Purchasing or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP).
  2. Experience with strategic sourcing, vendor management, or supplier relationship management.
  3. Familiarity with industry-specific procurement processes and requirements.
  4. Experience with inventory management systems and tools.
  5. Knowledge of international procurement practices and import/export regulations.
