Position Summary:

The Dispatcher, LTL, Shohola, PA has responsibility for the coordination of the utilization of drivers, trucks and shipments for the 2 LP Cylinder plants in Shohola, PA, to create capacity, maximize productivity and ensure prompt, courteous and efficient service to all customers. The Dispatcher is responsible for the daily route schedule, communication with carriers/drivers, dispatching loads and ensuring route completion for on time delivery of LP Cylinder tanks to all customers. The Dispatcher will monitor the process for continuous improvement and in support of white glove delivery service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, update and dispense the daily route schedule. Communicate with carriers/drivers, assigning loads based on designated routes and location.
• Plan and dispatch routes in an accurate and timely basis to meet established metrics
• Dispatch local and international loads as needed.
• Work closely with scheduling and planning to manage lead times and ensure that scheduling, routing and service are optimized and efficient.
• Gather and maintain route sheet documentation for pick-ups (scheduled, missed, extra pick ups), route completions and driver locations. Ensure route completion via the driver check-in process.
• Follow and ensure all required safety policies and procedures are followed and implemented.
• Maintain regular communication and manage and adapt to delays and/or issues on the road.
• Support needed response to unforeseeable issues with drivers, routes, customers, and equipment.
• Support Site Logistics Manager in coordinating changes made to operational plan with drivers and customers to ensure all stakeholders are aware of updates.
• Provide daily communication to management on labor and equipment needs.
• Ensure customer satisfaction, maintain interaction with customers on a continuous basis gathering feedback on safety, quality and delivery for continuous improvement.

• Report driver performance issues or concerns to appropriate leadership for resolution.
• Assist in verifying and resolving customer complaints.
• Maintain knowledge of and adhere to all regulatory compliance for logistics.
• Support the logistics team as needed.

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of work experience, preferably in planning and dispatching in transportation
• Experience with Hazmat and PHMSA regulations required
• Experience with Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) or ERP systems preferred

Education and Certification Qualifications:

• Associates degree in Business or Logistics preferred, equivalent work experience will be considered.
