Overview
Physician will serve as Physician Executive over all of Norther Arizona Healthcare’s Primary
Care Services and will report to the NAHMG President.
Purpose: In order to develop and maintain a highly reliable and clinically excellent healthcare system, NAH requires the services of physicians to act as Physician Executives for various programs, departments, and employed groups. The goal of Physician Executive services is to utilize physician expertise in alignment with organizational goals to provide safe, highly reliable, evidence-based care across the system.
Responsibilities
Physician will fulfill the following duties and responsibilities as Physician Executive, as more specifically defined each year with NAHMG’s President:
- Provide clinical expertise in Physician’s field to NAHMG administration
- Establish and uphold clinical practice standards
- Assist in education and leadership of clinical staff
- Assist in recruitment and retention of physicians/providers
- Develop and maintain physician relationships within and between different clinical departments as well as across Northern Arizona
- Assist NAH and NAHMG administration and department leadership in meeting federal, state, and other regulatory standards
- Align with NAHMG administration on setting, guiding, and achieving organizational goals
- Assist departments/programs in meeting budget goals through clinical guidance
- Select clinical equipment and supplies for the service line, in partnership with supply chain and value analysis committee
- Attend and participate in meetings/projects to improve clinical outcomes
- Participate in, apply, and promote considerations of Just Culture
- Assist in creating and maintaining a culture of safety
- Hold peers and colleagues accountable for their actions and behaviors
Qualifications
Performance and Evaluation: Each year, Physician, working with Physician’s administrative dyad partner, will set 3-5 goals, to be reviewed and approved by the NAHMG President and Chief Operating Officer of NAH. At the end of the year, those goals will be reviewed for progress/achievement. The goals will be used in part evaluate Physician’s effectiveness as Physician Executive. Progress toward these goals will not be used to withhold compensation, though they may be used to assess Provider’s fitness to continue as Physician Executive, and will not be the only determination of effectiveness/success.
