Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Examines detailed drawings or specifications to find out job, material and equipment requirements
- Cuts, rolls, shapes, bends, molds, spins, heats, or hammers metal products to fabricate parts or sub-assemblies
- Sets up and/or operates hand and machine tools, torches, and welding equipment
- Assembles parts and structures by lining up and joining them by welding or bolting
- Performs routine inspections on assigned equipment and notifies supervisor of defects or needed repairs
- Adheres to the company’s safety policies to create a safe work environment
- Possibility to learn to run computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines

Desired Qualifications/Skills:
- Sufficient education or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training that provides the desired knowledge, skills and characteristics to perform duties of the role
- Physically capable of handling heavy materials, tools and machines
- Must obtain the necessary training and certification prior to operating any equipment
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license or transportation to and from work
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work independently with little direction when applicable
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
- Must have a good work ethic, and the ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions
- Ability to use equipment and tools in a safe and efficient manner
- Ability to read drawings
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure
- Ability to pass a weld test
- Experience prepping and applying a shop coat of prime paint a plus
- Possible shift flexibility as work dictated
- Must have the ability to work nights, holidays and/or weekends when required
- Must be available for “Call Out”, “Emergency,” and “Outage” work
