Bonus Potential Summary/Objective The Prep Hold (PACU) Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of safe and effective care of the patient having invasive or non-invasive special procedure(s) or surgical suite to include the immediate pre-procedure period and immediately following the procedure. Essential Job Duties Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Utilizes a systemic approach to provide individualized, goal-directed, nursing care by performing comprehensive nursing assessments regarding the health status of the patient, making nursing diagnoses that serve as the basis for the strategy of care, developing a plan of care based on the assessment and diagnosis, implementing care and evaluating the patient's responses to nursing interventions. * Facilitates departmental operations through completion of all patient logs, charge requisitions and other paper work, as well as maintain required documentation of patient care and unit activities in accordance with standards. * Organizes activities during the immediate pre-procedure period to ensure that all required assessments are completed and documented fully, and assumes responsibility for the efficient management of patient in the immediate post procedure period. * Communicates information appropriately with Medical Staff and other members of the health care team to promote continuity of care and attainment of patient expected outcomes. * Analyzes the assessment data to determine nursing diagnosis and identifies expected outcomes that are unique to the patient. * Ensures implementation of operational standards which promote the maintenance of patient rights including, Informed consent, Clarification of patient expectations, Explanation of treatment processes, Maintenance of confidentiality of patient information, Maintenance of patient privacy through prevention of excess exposure during procedures, Ethical considerations, Handling of patient complaints. Required Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited nursing program 2 - 4 years related experience Required License/Certifications BLS certification ACLS certification / PALS
