DescriptionIdaho National Laboratory is hiring a Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to work in our Secure Operations department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our REC facility with every other Friday off.This position functions as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for the DOE-IN Classified Cyber Security Program at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL).The ISSO has a sound understanding of Cyber Security principles, concepts, practices, implementation, and risk mitigation. You will work independently on small projects and activities. Have oversight of the vulnerability management process(s) of assigned NSSs.Responsibilities Include:Development, implementation, and maintenance of cyber security controls and protection measures required by applicable ICD's, DOE Orders and Directives related to the systems supporting INL’s customers.Help maintain the System Security Plan for assigned Headquarters and Laboratory (HAL) network.Serve as a point of contact to DOE-IN for the assigned system’s Certification and Accreditation (C&A) process.Implement system security protection measures and documentation of these measures.Make recommendations for improvements in cyber security controls for assigned systems.Execute judgment decisions that may affect networks and the security of the areas where classified work is accomplished.Maintain and oversee implementation of the Cyber Security controls required by federal regulations for NSS, which includes Under Secretary of Energy’s Risk Management Approach and Defense Information System Network policies and procedures.Risk management activities relative to security protection of assigned system’s assets and information.Report any incidents of security concern to the Information System Security Manager.Monitor and respond to all alerts and bulletins issued by the approved sources.Develop, implements, and maintains network monitoring software such as Splunk.
