The Staff Acoustic Engineer will generally use computational aeroacoustics (CAA) methods to analyze and predict commercial aircraft engine component and overall system noise.Essential ResponsibilitiesAs the Staff Acoustics Engineer, you will:Execute and lead acoustic analysis, design, test, and integration required to define and support assigned components, assemblies, and systems that meet business standards and product requirementsDocument and communicate acoustic design, analysis, and test data resultsPerform computational aeroacoustics (CAA) analysesDesign and assess acoustic liners and treatment technologies utilizing a range of in-house and commercial toolsSupport the acoustics team through computational modeling, tool development, and validationPrepare and present technical information to internal and external customersLead and execute acoustic test programs within schedule and budget guidelinesContribute to process improvement, sharing lessons learned, and best practice documentationInterface with internal leadership, suppliers, partners, and airframe customersPrepare invention disclosures to protect technology that gives the business a competitive advantage, as well as protecting the intellectual property rights of the companyEffectively communicate and provide recommendations through the analysis, preparation, and presentation of technical data to internal and external GE customers using reports, records, and lettersQualifications/RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related engineering disciplineTen years of relevant acoustics experience in the commercial aviation industryDesired CharacteristicsMaster’s or PhD degree in Engineering with a focus in acousticsDemonstrated competency with CFD and computational aeroacoustic (CAA) prediction methodsExperience performing computational analyses on high performance computing (HPC) resourcesFamiliarity of acoustic testing, data post-processing, and evaluation within the aviation industryDemonstrated ability to document, plan, and manage technical programsStrong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skillsThe base pay range for this position is $121,500 - $202,600. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including thecandidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
