The Planner provides detailed planning, scheduling, and material control support to a team within the Aulani Resort, which consists of diverse maintenance, manufacturing, and engineering teams. The Planner will plan, coordinate, monitor, and analyze maintenance operations and activities to promote economical, safe, and effective use of Labor and Resources, Materials (Repairable & Consumable), and Equipment and provide mentorship/guidance and formal/informal training to other relevant parties. You will maintain both long and short-term maintenance or production plans to support customer requirements while increasing efficiency and equipment utilization; will develop and maintain a master schedule and resource plan and coordinate workload with other departments within the organization; will develop, implement, and maintain policies which ensure compliance to state and local laws and effective business practices.

This Full-time position reports to the Director of Engineering Services and will be working onsite at our breathtaking Aulani resort on the island of Oahu, Hawaii.

Responsibilities/You Will

  • Perform detailed planning for all work activities within the business unit, including maintaining plan information, status, progress and close-out details and plan vs. actual variance details and recovery plans.
  • Audit application of UMS data to work orders and job plans to ensure quality of priority, method, materials, safety, crew size, and accuracy of UMS times. Support the development of performance reports and trend charts for potential productivity improvement and cost reduction. Support report interpretation. Reports may include Staffing Models, Labor Analysis, Backlog Delay, Productivity or other reports as determined necessary.
  • Evaluate current work processes for maximum efficiency and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Establish asset locations, systems, equipment, asset identifications, and other requirements in CMMS and maintain database.
  • Perform planning and scheduling that complies with Corporate, Environmental Protection Agency, Federal and state legal/regulatory standards applicable to operation of the teams.
  • Perform all scheduling support for the business unit, including developing and maintaining computerized schedules depicting detailed work activity sequencing and resource allocation driven from the strategic and detailed plan and integrating individual schedules into a master for the organization as well as collecting and reporting progress, evaluating schedule variances, developing work-around plans and coordinating resolution of variances.
  • Support the purchasing, receiving, and expediting functions for the business unit including reviewing specifications for purchasing requirements, investigating and obtaining materials, and, at times, obtaining vendor quotes.

Basic Qualifications/You Will Have:

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Lead Craftsman.
  • Strong customer service and partnership with the teams within the organization.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in facilities and reliability maintenance/engineering.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to communicate with Management across multi-departments in verbal and written form.
  • Ability to multi-task; affect change of priorities based on the situation and maintain constant communications.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn to estimate and schedule software applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five or more years of experience in Maintenance operations with emphasis on systemic analysis, process flow, labor employment, equipment strategies, and materials evaluation.
  • Demonstrated experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS); MAXIMO and HotSOS.

The hiring range for this position in Hawaii is $70,000 to $93,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
