THE POSITION

The Washington County Department of Finance is now seeking an experienced individual to join our team as an Accountant II. This position will be responsible for the County Treasury tasks, which include monitoring daily cash flow needs, turnover of property tax and other funds to outside agencies, issuance of wire and ACH payments, providing documentation of transactions as requested from external auditors and customers, completing annual audit confirmations, and overseeing all County credit card and banking services.

This position has a hybrid schedule and can work remotely 2 days a week.

Our Ideal Candidate will be knowledgeable in governmental accounting and have a high-level of attention to detail. A successful candidate will have a desire to make a positive contribution to the Finance team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor's Degree in finance or accounting; AND two (2) years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience performing budgetary or financial analysis, or auditing.

  4. Interviews: Our goal is to schedule oral panel interviews with the top 6-8 candidates that successfully pass SME evaluation as quickly as possible.
