Boiler Operator - J346

The Boiler Operator uses various types of test and precision instruments to install, troubleshoot and repair plant utility equipment, including, but not limited to: dial indicators, micrometers, calipers, optical and laser instruments, multimeters, PLC interfaces, etc.

Duties:
Including but not limited to:

• Set up, operate, and use pressure gauges, thermometers, leak detectors, flow meters, roto meters, and other measuring instruments to the instrument manufacturer’s specification.
• Operate drill presses, mills, and grinders when building or repairing equipment
• Operate power tools including, but not limited to electric drills, electric hammers, tubing benders, pipe cutters, etc.
• Read PLC ladder logic and utilize PLC programming panels to troubleshoot equipment
• Troubleshoot, repair/modify, PM, check-out, and/or install utility equipment including pneumatic equipment, hydraulic equipment, bearings, pumps, and other devices following repair manuals, mechanical drawings, and elementary electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams.

Qualifications:

• Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed prior to start)
• One (1) year in chemical handling operations in a private, public, government, or military environment
• Current and Valid Driver’s License
• Two-year degree/diploma
• 3 years’ experience in chemical handling operations in a private, public, government, or military environment
• 5 years of on-the-job work experience in Plant Engineering
