Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and support 10-12 projects annually involving cost reductions, process optimization, new products and processes, and other related large scale continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Be able to quickly familiarize yourself with the assembly line layout and general process flow in order to make informed decisions when planning and implementing projects.
  • Use lean six sigma methodology and organizational tools to guide your planning and decision-making process.
  • Drive innovation within the solar manufacturing process. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, and implement them into the companies’ projects to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Breakdown assigned projects into discrete steps to provide high confidence deadlines.
  • Accurately define and track progress on project targets, milestones & checkpoints.
  • Proactively address any schedule deviations and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare all documentation needed for budget submission and approval for related projects.
  • Monitor purchasing status for all related projects and drive approval process through communication and sense of urgency to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Complete retrospectives and monitor project effectiveness after each phase of project implementation.
  • Form and lead cross-functional teams of shareholders from related departments to plan and implement projects by setting and managing stakeholder expectations, developing detailed project plans, properly defining scope, milestones, budgetary needs, and efficiently allocating resources to meet deadlines and provide deliverables
  • Coordinate with manufacturing engineers on improvement project initiation and project planning for projects within their areas.
  • Communicate project status and potential roadblocks/ resolutions with key stakeholders and management team.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, project management, or a related field.
  • Experience (3 years) in managing projects, preferably in manufacturing or renewable energy.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to formulate and manage project budgets to maximize profitability.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with working knowledge of Project and Visio
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or Six Sigma certification are a plus
  • Must be willing to work during night shift
