Job Title: Marketing Manager

Location: Troy, AL

Reports To: Director of Marketing & Communications

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The Marketing Manager is a key staff member responsible for developing and executing all direct marketing content, website, and E-Commerce strategies to support Kimber’s business objectives and grow the company’s brand recognition and market share. This role calls for a highly energetic self-starter who thrives in a fast paced, innovative, and dynamic environment. The Marketing Manager must take the initiative in both advertising and promotional opportunities. Plus, this individual will work in concert with cross-functional teams such as product development and customer service as well as engineering, events management and production to provide support in achieving key performance indicators defined by Kimber leadership and management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates with marketing, product management, sales, channel management, and other key leaders to develop and execute integrated marketing and communication strategies for new and existing products to maximize long term sales and profit.
  • Manages corporate website and coordinates updates with new products and other initiatives.
  • Monitors, updates and reports on E-Commerce, and advertising performance and analytics while reporting on performance trends and opportunities for all digital and tangible media placement.
  • Coordinates and works with outside vendors in the development of a new ancillary merchandise sales initiatives that will be sold on the company website while coordinating input from all internal business teams.
  • Manages website shopping cart and develops and executes consumer and dealer email marketing campaigns through cooperative software.
  • Works closely with the product management team to anticipate and plan product launches.
  • Executes social media strategies in support of brand messaging while reporting on performance metrics and established KPI’s.
  • Trouble shoot various problems and develop corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Understand/ learn the nature and functionality of the company’s products.
  • Establish regular reporting system that conveys progress within projects and within the department.
  • Accurately input all required data into the manufacturing database
  • Complete other duties as assigned by manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrable ability to build consensus among a broad constituency.
  • Experience in managing cross platform communications disciplines including print, broadcast, digital, and email.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills both verbal and written with an emphasis on proofreading, fact checking and price clarification.
  • Knowledge of firearms; quality, features, safety, category etc.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (word and excel)
  • Must be able to work accurately and efficiently in a fast work environment that has the potential to change due to regulatory and business needs.
  • Need to be detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to multi-task.
  • Experience working independently with little supervision and process work tasks into project management software.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in consumer goods marketing experience

Preferred:

  • Shooting sports and outdoor industry experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret quality performance reports and create solutions. Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

This position requires various reasoning abilities in order to be successful such as:

  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to perform complex and varied tasks.

COMPUTER SKILLS

The Marketing Manager will be required to have a base knowledge of operating Microsoft Office suite including MS Project, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word and MS Outlook using MS Office Windows platform. They must also have CRM experience in either HubSpot, or Klaivyo. Plus E-commerce familiarity with MAGENTO, Adobe Commerce, and or Big Commerce.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

This position may require travel occasionally up to 20% travel to consumer events, tradeshows and store openings.

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES

Attendance is an essential job requirement defined as having regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance including the ability to work regular hours and shifts, overtime before and after shifts and on weekends. Ability to work as part of a team, including all related departments/plants or independently as required to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction.
