Job Title: Cook III

Hiring for: Full Time and Part Time hours varying between 10am - 6:30pm

Salary: Starting at $20/hr PLUS $1 shift differential when working after 3pm and $1 shift differential on weekends!

What do I need as a Cook III with Messiah Lifeways?

• A Culinary degree or related training equivalent in the Hospitality/Restaurant/Dining Industry required.
• 2+ years of relevant work experience in similar scope and title.
• Food Safety Manager Certification preferred.
• Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
• Basic knowledge of production and operations in all relevant kitchen areas.
• Ability to effectively communicate and multi-task.
• Proficient in handling knives and culinary tools.

What will I do as a Cook III with Messiah Lifeways?

• Prepares high quality food items according to recipes and standards to meet timelines for service for residents and guests to include: saut?, braising, grill, batch cooking, fry and preparation.
• Meets or exceeds industry standards for the preparation, serving, and storing of food.
• Prepares meals according to recipe in a regular and consistent manner.
• Ensure that food preparation is completed for the next shift.
• Accurately completes daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning lists.
• Records production and waste on a regular and consistent basis.
• Ensures all recipes are followed exactly and consistently.
• Monitors inventory on a daily basis to ensure proper levels and quality.
• Maintains kitchen cleanliness and organization by following safety standards.
• Completes daily walkthroughs of the kitchen area.
• Perform other duties as directed, developed or assigned.
