Project Engineer- Clinton Engineering

Specializing in design-build, new construction, rehabilitation and renovation of commercial, industrial and municipal projects, CEC boasts a local, experienced workforce who self-perform in variety of trades from carpentry work to concrete paving, steel fabrication & erection, to excavation and more.

CEC is currently seeking a Project Engineer based in Clinton, Iowa.

The Project Engineer will work alongside a project manager, project superintendents and subcontractors to coordinate various phases of construction projects that vary in size and scale. Responsibilities of a Project Engineer include, but are not limited to, safety management and compliance, coordination of construction phases, estimation of labor and materials needed, planning and executing work procedures, preparing progress reports and assisting in project documentation. The ideal candidate has strong public speaking and interpersonal skills as presentations and proposals will also be a key component of the Project Engineer job. Coordination with subcontractors, superintendents, design personnel and vendors is another key responsibility for a successful and efficient project and will be expected of the Project Engineer. 

What makes you successful in this position?

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Engineering plus 1-2 years minimum of on-the-job experience in project engineering and/or estimating, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous experience with general trades, pre-engineered steel structures and/or concrete.
• The ability to follow and enforce all safety rules and regulations. 
• Strong organizational, managerial, analytical and interpersonal skills that allow you to lead multiple projects with minimal supervision.
• Fluency in Microsoft Suites and strong written and verbal communication skills. 
• Team player mentality with the desire to be a part of a successful company who values promoting from within.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.

This position is based in Clinton, IA and will require the ability to travel approximately 10% of the time, including to job sites both in and out of town, along with some nights, weekends and overnight stays, depending on work demands.

The pay range for this position is based on experience.

Candidates must possess the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical and background check.
