Role Overview: As our Procurement Rockstar, you'll be at the helm of our supply chain, ensuring the seamless flow of materials to support our manufacturing operations. You'll collaborate closely with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and implement cost-saving strategies to drive efficiency and maximize value.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Sourcing:

  • Identify reliable suppliers and vendors for required goods and services.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and availability of products.
  • Evaluate suppliers based on factors such as price, quality, delivery speed, and reliability.

Negotiation:

  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and prices with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to reach mutually beneficial agreements while maintaining positive relationships.

Purchase Order Management:

  • Generate purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure purchase orders are processed efficiently and transmitted to suppliers.
  • Monitor and track order status to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues that may arise.

Cost Management:

  • Work to minimize procurement costs while maintaining quality standards.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings through negotiation, alternative sourcing, or process improvements.

Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
  • Stay informed about legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement activities.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records of procurement transactions.

Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Address supplier concerns or issues promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to improve processes and service levels.

Supplier Quality Management

  • Develop and implement quality management systems and procedures.
  • Conduct quality inspections and audits of materials, products, and processes.
  • Identify and resolve quality issues through root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
  • Monitor and report on key quality performance indicators.

Inventory Management:

  • Coordinate with inventory management teams to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Monitor inventory levels and consumption patterns to avoid stockouts or excess inventory.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the procurement function.
  • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and cost savings.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to drive procurement-related initiatives.

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Bachelor's degree: in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience (preferred).
  • Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office applications.
  • Knowledge of procurement regulations and best practices.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in processing transactions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certification in procurement (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is a plus.
