The Dietary Clerk is responsible for coordinating the nutritional care management of Health Center residents in accordance with federal, state, and local laws. Assists residents with choices of selectable items on menus. Enters data into menu software programs and maintains resident profiles.

What you will bring

Our ideal candidate will be reliable and follow safety procedures and duties assigned by a supervisor.

• Six month’s experience as a diet aide or diet clerk in a skilled nursing facility or hospital preferred but not required. Will train on-the-job.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicates effectively, and performs simple arithmetic. Ability to understand measurements and conversions.
• Ability to interpret standardized recipes, instructions, specifications and standards.
• Ability to plan and organize work, set up trays and plates in accordance with diet orders, and interpret specifications and standards.
• Requires empathy for the elderly.
• Maintains San Diego Food Handler’s credential, renewable every three years.
• Legally Authorized to work in the United States
