This is a part-time and/or full-time position with a Monday – Friday schedule. The pay is $15 -17 per hour depending on experience and qualifications such as DCF mandated 45 hours and VPK endorsements. Employees are offered paid holidays, annual performance/retention bonus and professional development with tuition reimbursement opportunities. This position is onsite at our school located at 570 N Alafaya Trail, Orlando FL 32828.

The VPK Teacher coordinates engaging developmental activities, implements curriculum that prepares children for school, and enhances their pre-reading, pre-math, language, and social skills. The Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Teacher serves as a model and mentor. In this role you’ll have the opportunity to build a dynamic classroom environment, create fun-filled learning activities, and support the growth and success of children.

What You’ll Do as a VPK Teacher:
• Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards
• Lead by example and encourage success through modeling and coaching
• Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth
• Follow all facility policies and state regulations
• Maintain a personal and professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement

What We Need from You:
• Strong Customer Service, interpersonal and sales skills
• Strong Technology skills
• Cheerful, enthusiastic, and engaging in the workplace
• Demonstrate empathy and patience in difficult situations
• High School Diploma and/or Degree in early childhood education or related field of study

• CDA preferred
• Must clear a full DCF Level II background check
• Minimum 2 -3 years of direct professional experience in an early childhood setting
