Job Summary:  The Restaurant Manager is responsible for the overall daily operation of dinner service at Marli’s restaurant and bar, located within The Pollard Hotel. The Restaurant Manager works closely with the management staff to ensure proper staffing, financial profitability, hiring and training of employees, and that safety and health standards are met. Responsibilities also include maximizing sales and revenue through customer satisfaction, employee engagement, and menu design input. Must be able to perform all positions within the restaurant. In the absence of other management personnel, the Restaurant Manager also serves as the Manager on Duty at the best historic hotel around!


Essential Job Duties: include the following; other duties may be assigned:

  • Coordinates all Front of House and Back daily operations for dinner operations 
  • Understand, utilize, and train to POS system
  • Delivers and trains to exceptional customer service
  • Ensures financial stability by meeting or exceeding company goals, including working within agreed labor percentages
  • Works closely with the Culinary staff to ensure a seamless operation between FOH and BOH
  • Provides leadership for all employees, including supervisors and shift leads
  • Works closely with the extended management team and shares the company’s “Best Practices” philosophy throughout the restaurant and bar
  • Ensures training standards are upheld effectively and efficiently
  • Responds efficiently and accurately to customer complaints
  • Upholds all safety and health code standards
  • Attends Manager and staff meetings regularly and is a member of Red Lodge Hospitality’s Leadership Team
  • Manages the wine menu and inventory to ensure market position and recognition 
  • Works with the General Manager and Human Resources to hire, fire, and evaluate employees and conduct exit interviews when appropriate
  • Collaborates with the Red Lodge Hospitality Leadership Team for best practices, leadership, and motivational trainings and opportunities.
  • Stays current with industry trends
  • Ensures schedules are posted accurately and on time. 
  • Works closely with the General Manager to ensure productivity standards are being met.

Experience/Education Preferred:

  • Restaurant supervisory experience/Hospitality business experience
  • Experience with and knowledge of wine
  • College/Trade School coursework
  • Serve Safe Certificate
  • Responsible Alcohol Sales and Service Training 
  • Cash handling experience
