Diagnostic Allergy, part of LabCorp Specialty Testing Group is seeking a Technician Trainee to work in our laboratory in Phoenix, AZ! The schedule for this position will be: 3rd shift, Thursday through Sunday 2am-12pm.

Shift differential offered for is 15%

Responsibilities:

  • Perform Immunocap in vitro test system for the quantitative measurement of circulating IgE in human serum.
  • This position will work independently (1 assay/1 Technician)  and will be responsible for the structure of their day
  • Set up analyzers and make reagents
  • Interpret results, subject to verification by Technologist/Supervisor, and providing allowance by State regulations
  • Evaluate samples to determine appropriateness of patient results in the setting of sample matrix, anticoagulant status, and clinical relevance
  • Comply with all regulatory and department standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in all quality aspects of our CAP and ISO 15189 accredited laboratory operation
  • Multitasking, pipetting and technical skills and time management are all keys to success in the Allergy department

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or similar life science discipline
  • Previous experience working in a clinical lab setting preferred, but not required
  • Ability to work independently and critically assess one’s own work
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot a process based on an established procedure
  • Strong time-management skills
