Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Staff Accountant to join our finance department. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, proven leadership skills, and a track record of delivering high-quality results. This role offers the opportunity to lead accounting projects, mentor junior team members, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize financial processes and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review complex financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior staff members, review their work for accuracy and compliance, and foster their professional development.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes to support strategic decision-making and business objectives.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies as needed and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the finance department.
  • Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends and provide guidance on their implications for the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA certification preferred.
  • 4-5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
  • Strong technical accounting skills and advanced knowledge of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Effective leadership and mentoring abilities with a collaborative and team-oriented approach.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting and analysis.
