POSITION OVERVIEW

The Pro Shop Associate is responsible for learning, selling, and promoting all pro shop products. The Pro Shop Associate is responsible for receiving products into inventory, merchandising the sales floor, communicating with customers, and ensuring all customers leave with a positive experience and the desire to return to Tommy’s Boats. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the highest levels of service and customer satisfaction
  • Engage with customers by asking open ended questions that help make a personal connection
  • Support the receiving and merchandising for the store
  • Sell merchandise to achieve/exceed revenue and margin goals
  • Support the marketing team to engage with as many customers as possible
  • Work with product reps to learn how to promote and demonstrate our products
  • Minimize loss of product through theft and avoiding administration mistakes
  • Rotate merchandise bi-monthly to keep the shop fresh for returning customers
  • Maintain organization of the sales floor as well as products back stocked in the warehouse
  • Study and demo products to ensure all questions asked by customers can be answered knowledgably
  • Maintain cleanliness of the entire pro shop, including changing rooms and bathrooms
  • Accurately ring up sales, returns, warranty and exchanges. Receive payment and provide correct change and receipts
  • Ensure all products are accurately tagged
  • Other tasks as requested by supervisor

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Computer Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred; experience with CounterPoint preferred
  • Customer Service: Ability to service our customers respectfully and efficiently. Understand that the customer is our number one priority and serving them is what makes us successful
  • Selling: Gain our customers trust through selling our products with enthusiasm and true passion
  • Watersport: Ability to learn the water sport industry, as well as learn how to use the products we sell (surfing, skiing, etc.)
  • Communication: Ability to interact professionally with colleagues, clients, and company personnel; ability to clearly and effectively communicate information both orally and in writing

  • Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually medium to loud. The shop can be cooler in the winters and hotter in the summers; outdoor work is expected; work performed on water is also expected
  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, or crouch for extended periods of time and regularly required to walk. Employee regularly uses hands and fingers to touch, feel, and handle. Employee regularly stoops, kneels, bends at the waist, and reaches. Employee is frequently required to speak and hear. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
