Salary:

The Waterfront Driver is responsible for assisting with the safe transportation of rental boats to and from various lakes, launches, customers, Tommy’s marinas and service departments.

 

Essential duties and responsibilities 

  • Safely and timely transport rental boats to various lakes/launches for customer reservations
  • Walk through the orientation/inspection/check in and out process with rental customers
  • Demonstrate safe operation of the rental boat to customers where necessary
  • Communicate with delivery customers to ensure timing coordination with pick-ups/drop-offs
  • Responsible for ensuring departing rental boats have required gear and requested gear per the rental customer
  • Assist with the delivery of rental boats from the service department to the rental marina/location post-prep
  • Assist with the retiring of rental boats post-season by pulling boats out of the water and placing them at the service department
  • If applicable to the Tommy’s location, launch/pull boats in the am/pm dependent on rental boat demand and space at the marina
  • Understand the SOP’s of the rental process including deposits, reservations, damage policy, etc.
  • Ability to use Dealership Advantage for reservations, deposits, payment, and viewing the schedule
  • Continually improve processes in place for outgoing rental boats to off-site locations
  • Communicate any rental boat/trailer/vehicle issues
  • Assist with training qualified staff with trailering/launching processes
  • Set high expectations for customer service and operational performance and achieve them
  • Interface with customers, vendors, and other business units
  • Uphold all laws, standards and regulations that apply to the businesses
  • Maintain a safe work environment through training, audits, and continuous improvements
  • Develop a business that customers want to visit
  • Any other task as requested by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education/Experience: trailering/launching experience required
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office experience required.
  • Boater’s License: obtain a valid boater’s license required
  • Driver’s License: obtain a valid drivers license required. Pass a thorough MVR and obtain MVR acceptance by Tommy’s insurance company
  • Background Test: pass a thorough background test required
  • Boat Operation: ability to operate a wide range of different boats required
  • Characteristics: Posses humility, willingness to serve, and the ability to teach. Clearly convey a passion for the business, the customers and the team members
