Salary: up to $16.00 hr plus tips

The ideal candidate must posses experience in crafting cocktails. The Lead Bartender is responsible for maintaining the bar area, serving restaurant and bar patrons both food and drinks, coaching and training the front-of-house staff, and filling drink orders for the restaurant.  An understanding of cocktail trends, extensive experience, and knowledge about cocktails, wine, beer, and mixed drinks.  Providing exceptional customer service is necessary for this position. Works with the Restaurant Manager to develop menus specific to seasonality and trends.


Essential Job Duties: include the following; other duties may be assigned:

 

  • Greets guests upon arrival at the restaurant
  • Remembers frequent guests' names, their likes and dislikes to keep their repeat business
  • Takes orders from customers as well as restaurant wait staff, serves drinks as requested
  • Mixes beverages using an extensive range of ingredients, including liquor, bitters, soda, water, and fruits
  • Knows of and recommends wines, beers, and cocktails to fit customer preferences
  • Takes orders and serves food to customers in the bar and on the patio
  • Provides a positive and friendly guest experience by interacting with guests
  • Collects money and utilizes POS
  • Check identification to verify the legal age requirements of customers
  • Keeps a clean and well-stocked bar of all necessary ingredients
  • Ensures proper sanitation throughout the bar
  • Preps cocktail mixers, slices and prepares fruits
  • Works with kitchen staff on ingredients that need to be prepped
  • Collaborate with the culinary and management team to create featured drink menus that complement food offerings and special events, enhancing the overall dining experience.
  • Manage the spirits, wines, beers, and other bar supplies inventory. Implement effective stock rotation and order supplies to maintain optimal levels without overstocking.
  • Orders products as necessary
  • Keeps track of daily, weekly, and quarterly sales
  • Collects sales data for popular and unpopular items
  • Meets and communicates with staff regularly
  • Train and mentor bar staff and serving staff in mixology techniques, customer service, and product knowledge. Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous learning. 
  • Works closely with management to recruit, hire, and train staff
  • Complies with all food and beverage laws and regulations
  • Changes kegs and re-stocks bar
  • Hauls trash, shovels snow, mops floors, cleans bathrooms
  • Closes bar, drops cash at the end of shift, locks doors
  • Assists The Pollard Hotel front desk staff to greet hotel guests

Valued Experience/Education:

 

  • High School Diploma
  • 2+ years working as a bartender
  • Supervisory experience
  • RASS certification
