Nebraska Truck Center has an immediate opening for a Service Advisor in our Grand Island location. The successful service advisor candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary to work as the main contact between our customers and our service shop. The service advisor is responsible for selling our services to our customers and ensuring all of our customers’ needs are correctly addressed.


ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess exceptional customer service, organization and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with Detroit, Cummins and Freightliner products a plus, but not required
  • High School Diploma required
  • Expediting incoming service calls

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

  • Schedules service appointments. Obtains customer and vehicle data prior to arrival when possible.
  • Handles telephone inquiries regarding appointments and work in process.
  • Greets customers in a timely, friendly manner and obtains vehicle information.
  • Writes up customer’s vehicle problems accurately and clearly.
  • Obtains customer’s signature on write up; provides customer with a copy.
  • Checks vehicle warranty & if any recalls are needed.
  • Provides a complete and accurate written cost estimate for labor and parts.
  • Establishes customer’s method of payment. Obtains credit approval, if necessary.
  • Refers to service history and recommends additional needed service.
  • Advises customers on the care of their vehicle and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications.
  • Checks on progress of repair throughout the day. Contacts customers regarding any changes in the estimate or promised time, explains cost and time requirements in detail, and gets proper authorization before any additional repairs are performed.
  • Explains completed work and all charges to customers.
  • Reviews repair orders to ensure that work is completed and additional work and authorization is noted. Closes repair order as appropriate.
  • Maintains high customer satisfaction standards.
